The Columns Banquets: Bob & Mary's Summer Wedding Event

What an honor it was for us to be a part of Bob & Mary's summer wedding at the The Columns Banquets. Three years had passed so quickly since we photographed his brother and sister-in-law Andrew and Erin's Becker Farms Wedding. Just like that, we were all geared up for another beautiful wedding event with his family - and it certainly lived up to all expectations.

It was no coincidence that Mary seemed to be the calmest bride we've ever worked with. Her family commented on how laid back she and Bob both were. She definitely made our job easy, as she and her company of ladies got dolled up and dressed up in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere at the Buffalo Millennium Hotel.

After taking some beautiful photographs of the bride, we headed off to the Columns Banquets where we met Bob and his groomsmen finishing up their preparations -- tying ties, fastening boutonnieres, and lacing up shoe strings. What a handsome and fun bunch!

The beauty of The Columns Banquets facility, inside and out, was a perfect setting for this gorgeous wedding. The Corinthian Ballroom was exquisitely adorned in purple details.

We loved how the grounds of The Columns Banquets made for both a beautiful outdoor ceremony and the perfect backdrop for couple's portraits, giving us just enough space to step away from the crowd for some quiet moments with the bride and groom. After which, we headed back inside for speeches, cake, and dancing. Bob and Mary's daughter stole the show as she danced in her mother's shoes (if you'd asked her, she would told you they were HER shoes).

It's always a pleasure of ours to reunite with past wedding clients at a wedding. Personal referrals are the best business one can have, so we had to capture this photo of three wedding clients together. At that moment, the party was just getting started. Love the energy both families had on the dance floor!

Bob and Mary - thanks for asking us to be a part of your wedding day! It has truly been our pleasure to work with your family and friends over the years. We certainly hope it's not the last time that we meet at a wedding! :)

Traditionally Modern: Daniel & Christine's Downtown Buffalo & Orchard Park Country Club Wedding

When we first met Daniel and Christine over Skype to talk about their wedding day plans, it was clear these two had an easy, natural chemistry stemming from a great friendship. So we had a really good feeling about how well their affection for each other would photograph on their wedding day, and we were right on the money.

We met Christine at her family's home in Orchard Park the afternoon of her wedding, where she was as cool as a cucumber in the company of her parents and bridesmaids.

After capturing that moment when her dad would see his daughter for the first time in her wedding dress, we had some time to capture some beautiful portraits of Christine. As we did, we couldn't help but be reminded of how Dan first described her smile and her bubbly, contagious laugh to us in that initial conversation. She was definitely a ray of sunshine!

Not to be outdone was Dan and his family who prepared for the wedding at the Salvatore's Garden Place Hotel. We love how sharp Dan and his gents look in their navy suits!

Since Daniel and Christine are both originally from Western New York, it was really important to them to capture some Buffalo landmarks as part of their bridal party photographs--and they worked in plenty of time between the ceremony and the reception to make it happen (we LOVE that)! So after their Orchard Park ceremony, we headed to downtown Buffalo, stopping first in the Cobblestone District, and then on to Buffalo City Hall. Of course, since the car show happened to be in town around the corner, we were thrilled to work in a classic car shot at the Pierce Arrow Museum in between stops :)

Still having some time before the guests would arrive for the reception, we headed to Orchard Park Country Club and had a few more beautiful moments with the bride and groom. The grounds of the Country Club were so picturesque, we could have kept these two out there on the green even longer - but the time had arrived for the reception to start!

Dan and Christine were overjoyed at their entrance and Dan even did a first dance before the 'official' first dance, which just set the tone of celebration that evening. The speeches from the maid of honor, the best man, and Christine's dad were so thoughtfully written and delivered that they just made your heart melt...not to mention the father-daughter and mother-son dances!

Dan and Christine were masters at the shoe game. Since their friendship goes back to their days of working together at YMCA day camp, they really know each other well!

Dan & Christine - we're so glad you found us in your wedding photography search on the worldwide web! It was our total pleasure to work with you, your families and friends on your gorgeous wedding day. We wish you both the best in your lives as husband and wife, and each other's best friend! :)

#dreandlishitched15: A Spencerport Wedding at Plantation Party House

The weeks just seemed to fly by from the time we photographed Andre and Melissa's engagement session, and suddenly their Spencerport wedding day was upon us. As we headed down I-90 from Buffalo to Rochester, surrounded by sunshine and the deep green of mid-summer trees, we could see it was shaping up to be a beautiful day.

We caught up with Melissa just as she was finishing up hair and makeup.  The blue in her details and bridesmaids dresses were the perfect compliment to her blue eyes--and the bright summer sky!

Melissa had multiple sets of jewelry and was still undecided until the moment she got dressed. Just then, a family member volunteered her diamond studs, and everyone agreed it was the perfect "something borrowed" that she needed to complete her wedding day look!

Meanwhile down the hall, Andre and his groomsmen were all suited up, just waiting for the ceremony to begin. Love the purple and blue orchid boutonniere against Andre's grey suit.  Just sharp!

Just before the ceremony, Andre came to exchange a gift and private sentiments with his bride. Although they didn't see each other, this hand-hold around the door was definitely the next best thing!

Andre personally rolled out the "white carpet" for his bride's walk down the aisle. With that, the ceremony began. It was a beautiful sight to see Melissa's father escort her toward her groom as friends and family looked on.

Next stop, Spencerport's Plantation Party House, where first we captured a few portraits of the stunning bride, followed by some fun shots with the bridal party.

We had such a hard time narrowing down our favorite couple shots from this wedding. So we stopped narrowing. Enjoy! :)

Meanwhile inside the Party House, the guests were assembled and ready for the party to start!

We absolutely love the happy smiles on the faces the bride and groom's parents as they prepared to make their reception entrance. Everyone in the bridal party was ready to celebrate--but especially Melissa and Andre!

After speeches and dinner, the reception guests meandered along the grounds of the Plantation Party House, enjoying each other's company both indoors and out in the warm evening breeze. Since the newlyweds were soon to move to Hawaii, this day was all about having a good time with their friends and family...and that they did!

As the couple took their turns on the dance floor, first with each other, then with their parents, there was not a dry eye in the house. Such beautiful moments!

The dancing was just getting started, and once it did, it never stopped. This bunch nearly brought down the Party House!

The bride and groom couldn't have looked happier as they made a jovial exit to glow sticks!

And since we were all outside...why not get our final shots of the night alongside the couple's sweet wedding day ride?

Andre and Melissa - best wishes to the two of you as you begin your new life together in tropical Hawaii! So glad you chose us to capture your wedding-day send off from Western New York! Congratulations! Aloha! :)

Jessica and Bryant's Nashville Wedding at the Noah Liff Opera Center

Whenever we receive an invitation to photograph an out-of-State wedding, we are truly honored! It means so much that our clients have such value for what we do, they'd rather have us capture their wedding day than any local photographer. Really?? Thanks! :) That's how we felt when asked to travel to Nashville to photograph Jessica and Bryant's wedding at the Noah Liff Center! After shooting their engagement session at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens, on one of the most blustery Spring days in Buffalo, you can imagine our eagerness to head South to the much warmer climates of Nashville, Tennessee!

We met Jessica at her home the morning of the wedding, surrounded by friends and family--calm and cool amidst a flurry of activity.

We have this strong suspicion that Jessica gets her cool from her dad. Just a hunch...

After Jessica's two sisters -- her maid and matron of honor -- got her all laced up in her gown, their mom helped with the final touches by placing her jewelry. Beautiful!

A few miles down I-65 at the Embassy Suites South-Cool Springs, the groomsmen were gearing up for the big day themselves--as you can see from the groom's dapper details below. Looking sharp, guys!

Always a pleasure to get one classic shot of the groomsmen. This one right outside the hotel is just stellar!

All the guests gathered at the Kingdom Hall were in great anticipation of the bride. But none more excited than the groom. We could all see from his expression (quite possibly the biggest grin in the world) how happy he was to see his lady walk towards him down the aisle!

A few quick shots of the bride and groom just outside the Kingdom Hall, and we were on our way to the party!

The Noah Liff Opera Center was a simply beautiful venue, modern yet classic at the same time. We have to say the guests lended as nicely to the ambiance as did the decor. Several of them waited in line to have their picture drawn by the caricature artist. What a unique favor idea!

Why have one cake when you can have two? Love the "his and hers" cakes!

And now for your bride and groom! These two were ready to celebrate--as were their guests, who had prepared not one but two dedication songs. Now that's love!

When the time came for dances, it was Chrisette Michele's "A Couple of Forevers" that had both the bride and groom feeling the love, and singing it to each other so you know they meant it! Way to break it down!

Photographs cannot fully capture all the energy and interaction between the bride and his mom and the groom and her dad during their dances. It was a true celebration of happiness and love!

One final moment to pause and take it ALL in! Bryant & Jessica - thanks for inviting us all the way to Nashville to capture your wedding day! It was our pleasure to work with you and your families as always. We wish you the best as the newest Mr. & Mrs. Brady - and can't wait to see you all again somewhere soon down the road! :)
