Jaelyn's Mini Portrait Shoot

On a recent visit out West, our neice Jaelyn persuaded us (pretty easily) into having a mini-portrait session for her. In reality, we were happy to do it - we love you Jae! We must admit that this young lady has a knack for posing it up...like she gets a lot of practice or something. Just a hunch we have. These portraits really turned out beautifully. Jae, we had a great time with you! Very proud of the young lady you are becoming! We hope to see you soon!

Marvaughn: Class of 2014

Some shoots are more personal than others. That's how it is with family. So it was joyful (and a little sobering) to be part of our nephew's high school senior portrait session. I (Deanne) can't believe how fast he has grown into the young man that he is. While proud of his abilities and accomplishments, we are most proud that, through the good and bad, he remains at heart a pleasant young man and a joy to be around.

Marvaughn is a senior at Connersville High School, a member of the track & field team, varsity football "#6", and an honors student. So yes, many reasons to be proud. Marvaughn, we hope you have a great Senior year, and wish you the brightest, happiest future possible - make it happen!!

Holcomb Family

One of our favorite things to capture is the love between parent and child. That's one of the reasons why we loved this shoot with the Holcombs. We were very happy with the way this shoot came together so fluidly, in rural fields on a sunny summer afternoon. There is something so irresistable about playing in the grass!

We often take a few minutes with mom and dad to capture that love that started the family growing in the first place. Megan and Caleb definitely still have it!We were prepared to wrap up our shoot when Miss Charlotte returned to the scene in a princess costume. Needless to say, the cuteness was irresistible.Holcomb Family, thanks for inviting us to capture some great memories with you!

Schwindt Family Portrait Session

When you are accustomed to shooting on location, you can name a spot or two that may lend itself to the client. But sometimes, the best location is where the client lives. This was the case with the Schwindt family. When we agreed to meeting them in Northeast PA to photograph them along nearby ponds and vineyards, we had no idea they meant their home. What a beautiful place to grow up!

We started our shoot just outside their front door. Our next stop was a nearby pond across the road where the kids felt completely at home, keeping to their usual tradition of running barefoot. After some fun and formal family portraits, the little ones were ready to run again. So we continued our adventure on the other side of the bridge, between the pond and vineyards. The family enjoyed skipping rocks and even found an oyster to show off!We caught a few shots of mom and dad exchanging hugs and kisses. Four kids later, they still have that spark! Not too long after, the kids were ready to do more of what they loved the most - running! We were just wrapping up when we caught sight of the sunset, and asked for one more pose (in exchange for another chance to run). So glad we did - we love this one. And what a great way to end this post.

Schwindt Family - we had so much fun with you! Thanks for a great shoot!
