The Columns Banquets: Bob & Mary's Summer Wedding Event

What an honor it was for us to be a part of Bob & Mary's summer wedding at the The Columns Banquets. Three years had passed so quickly since we photographed his brother and sister-in-law Andrew and Erin's Becker Farms Wedding. Just like that, we were all geared up for another beautiful wedding event with his family - and it certainly lived up to all expectations.

It was no coincidence that Mary seemed to be the calmest bride we've ever worked with. Her family commented on how laid back she and Bob both were. She definitely made our job easy, as she and her company of ladies got dolled up and dressed up in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere at the Buffalo Millennium Hotel.

After taking some beautiful photographs of the bride, we headed off to the Columns Banquets where we met Bob and his groomsmen finishing up their preparations -- tying ties, fastening boutonnieres, and lacing up shoe strings. What a handsome and fun bunch!

The beauty of The Columns Banquets facility, inside and out, was a perfect setting for this gorgeous wedding. The Corinthian Ballroom was exquisitely adorned in purple details.

We loved how the grounds of The Columns Banquets made for both a beautiful outdoor ceremony and the perfect backdrop for couple's portraits, giving us just enough space to step away from the crowd for some quiet moments with the bride and groom. After which, we headed back inside for speeches, cake, and dancing. Bob and Mary's daughter stole the show as she danced in her mother's shoes (if you'd asked her, she would told you they were HER shoes).

It's always a pleasure of ours to reunite with past wedding clients at a wedding. Personal referrals are the best business one can have, so we had to capture this photo of three wedding clients together. At that moment, the party was just getting started. Love the energy both families had on the dance floor!

Bob and Mary - thanks for asking us to be a part of your wedding day! It has truly been our pleasure to work with your family and friends over the years. We certainly hope it's not the last time that we meet at a wedding! :)

#dreandlishitched15: A Spencerport Wedding at Plantation Party House

The weeks just seemed to fly by from the time we photographed Andre and Melissa's engagement session, and suddenly their Spencerport wedding day was upon us. As we headed down I-90 from Buffalo to Rochester, surrounded by sunshine and the deep green of mid-summer trees, we could see it was shaping up to be a beautiful day.

We caught up with Melissa just as she was finishing up hair and makeup.  The blue in her details and bridesmaids dresses were the perfect compliment to her blue eyes--and the bright summer sky!

Melissa had multiple sets of jewelry and was still undecided until the moment she got dressed. Just then, a family member volunteered her diamond studs, and everyone agreed it was the perfect "something borrowed" that she needed to complete her wedding day look!

Meanwhile down the hall, Andre and his groomsmen were all suited up, just waiting for the ceremony to begin. Love the purple and blue orchid boutonniere against Andre's grey suit.  Just sharp!

Just before the ceremony, Andre came to exchange a gift and private sentiments with his bride. Although they didn't see each other, this hand-hold around the door was definitely the next best thing!

Andre personally rolled out the "white carpet" for his bride's walk down the aisle. With that, the ceremony began. It was a beautiful sight to see Melissa's father escort her toward her groom as friends and family looked on.

Next stop, Spencerport's Plantation Party House, where first we captured a few portraits of the stunning bride, followed by some fun shots with the bridal party.

We had such a hard time narrowing down our favorite couple shots from this wedding. So we stopped narrowing. Enjoy! :)

Meanwhile inside the Party House, the guests were assembled and ready for the party to start!

We absolutely love the happy smiles on the faces the bride and groom's parents as they prepared to make their reception entrance. Everyone in the bridal party was ready to celebrate--but especially Melissa and Andre!

After speeches and dinner, the reception guests meandered along the grounds of the Plantation Party House, enjoying each other's company both indoors and out in the warm evening breeze. Since the newlyweds were soon to move to Hawaii, this day was all about having a good time with their friends and family...and that they did!

As the couple took their turns on the dance floor, first with each other, then with their parents, there was not a dry eye in the house. Such beautiful moments!

The dancing was just getting started, and once it did, it never stopped. This bunch nearly brought down the Party House!

The bride and groom couldn't have looked happier as they made a jovial exit to glow sticks!

And since we were all outside...why not get our final shots of the night alongside the couple's sweet wedding day ride?

Andre and Melissa - best wishes to the two of you as you begin your new life together in tropical Hawaii! So glad you chose us to capture your wedding-day send off from Western New York! Congratulations! Aloha! :)

Miranda and Joe's Kloc's Grove Wedding Celebration

When planning their wedding day, Miranda and Joe had one primary objective in mind: to have a good time with their family and friends! So when their Kloc's Grove Wedding Day arrived, they did exactly that! Kloc's garden pavilion provided a beautiful outdoor summer venue to photograph their wedding day celebration!

Miranda chose to get dressed in the bridal suite at Kloc's Grove. Her sister was there by her side, to make sure she looked perfect before the ceremony began.

Joe had a little help as well, as he and his groomsmen suited up for the big event.

Joe and Miranda's daughter Lilee was so excited to toss the flower petals in advance of her mommy's entrance. Joe couldn't hold back his smile as he watched his father-in-law escort his lovely bride down that aisle.

Miranda's teardrop bouquet of blue and purple flowers made every shot with her lovely bridal party that much more stunning.

Joe and Miranda's youngest daughter Bailee slept through the entire ceremony and was just waking up when we were photographing her mom here. She was just so happy to be in her mommy's arms!

Between dinner and dancing, Joe and Miranda and a few friends stepped away from the party to send off heart-shaped paper lanterns at dusk. A cloudless sky was the perfect canvas for painting the night sky with light and color!

The pavilion lit with white string lights really brought the romance to Joe and Miranda's first dance. Their expressions helped a lot too :)

Alex & Suzie's Beautiful Tews Falls Wedding

There was just something special about Alex & Suzie's Tews Falls wedding day. As we were editing images, it was like every photograph transported us back to remind us how perfect their day was (as you can see by this really, really long post). True, the weather cooperated completely and the late summer foliage at Hamilton's Tews Falls Park could not have been more scenic, but the most beautiful part about photographing their wedding day was the love and joy that beamed from their faces. True story.

We met Suzie at her friend's apartment, just as she was getting her final touches done on her makeup. Even while sporting big curlers, Suzie was still super cute!

Suzie's tea-length dress was simple elegance at its best, accented with diamonds, pearls, bright coral shoes and rose bouquet, a 50s-style birdcage veil fascinator...and of course tequila shot glasses. Why not?

Just a few zips, buttons, and one approving kiss later, Suzie's bridesmaids had her dressed and ready to go!

Alex and Suzie decided on "first looks" before the wedding at Tews Falls Park. That's where we caught up with Alex and his groomsmen, relaxed and dressed sharp. Love the turquoise paisley neckties from The Tie Bar!

Meanwhile, we took a few more photos of Suzie and her lovely ladies while she anticipated seeing her groom for the first time that day. Love these!

We have to say as photographers, we LOVE first looks. It's so wonderful to have the latitude to capture the expressions of the bride and groom first seeing each other privately in a relaxed atmosphere before the wedding. First looks make for some absolutely stunning photos. Here, Suzie is subtly reminding us to "hush" as she heads over to tap her groom on the shoulder and see his face light up as he turns around!

Did we mention how much we love first looks? :)

After a great time with the bridal party at Tews Falls Park, it was time to head over to the Kingdom Hall for their ceremony. The look on Alex's face as Suzie's father walked her down the aisle was equally matched by the expression on her face after she kissed her groom for the first time as his wife. So much love in the house! :)

The bridal party asked to make one more stop on the way to the reception at Detour Roasters Coffee House in Dundas. It was a perfectly fine cafe to have a hot drink freshly brewed or a cold drink freshly tapped. Or to just be photographed.

Finally, Alex and Suzie arrived at the Copetown Community Center to kick off the reception with their first dance. It was sweet and silly, as they danced and sang "opera style" to each other.

After the parent dances, Alex and Suzie started the party off with a demonstration of the Virginia Reel, followed by a 15-minute rendition of it to the tune of "Cotton-Eye Joe." From that moment on, the dance floor was packed!

Michelle & Andrew's Finger Lakes Wedding at Auburn's Emerson Park Pavilion

When Michelle and Andrew came together to celebrate their wedding day with their friends and families this summer in the Finger Lakes, it was a truly beautiful event. The two chose Emerson Park Pavilion as the location for their ceremony and reception. The breath-taking waterfront scenery of this lovely park nestled in the heart of New York's Finger Lakes Region made for some truly gorgeous wedding photography. Here along Owasco Lake, we met Michelle and her girls before the ceremony for a few portraits before the wedding.  Love how they turned out!

How sweet was it to happen upon this classic car at the park? We love it!

At the pavilion on the other side of the park, Andrew and his groomsmen were patiently awaiting the start of the ceremony. Closely accompanying Andrew was his little shadow, RJ. This handsome fellow was so cute as he imitated Andrew's every move!

During the ceremony, in addition to exchanging rings, the two exchanged roses as symbols of their love for each other.

A kiss later, and we were on our way to capture a few photographs of the happy newlyweds and their bridal party!

Michelle and Andrew thought about everything for the enjoyment of their guests - down to the games for the kids and the "iPad" photo booth. So cute!

These two romantics stepped outside to enjoy a dance on the veranda as the live music of 3 West filled the summer air around them. Beautiful!

Back inside, 3 West kept the crowd dancing with an awesome variety of songs hand-picked by the bride and the groom. This dynamic acoustic duo out of Lancaster, Pennsylvania were as pleasant to be around as they were to listen to, as you can see by the shots below. How sweet is that?
