Class & Color: Tim & Tracy's Urban Chic Anniversary Portrait Session in Downtown Buffalo

As much as we love photographing the wedding day, when two people start their journey together, there is something so very inspiring about photographing a couple whose journey is well underway. Anniversary photography sessions are occasions to celebrate a husband and wife's commitment and dedication to live up to the vows they exchange, come what may. Tim and Tracy are such a couple, and this anniversary session is our way of celebrating their lasting love.

Although this anniversary session was just a few days after their 17th anniversary, their interaction during this shoot felt much more like that of newlyweds--as spoken by the photographs that follow.

As day turned to night, we found our way over to Niagara Square for a few more shots. We love how striking these two look at the Federal Courthouse Building with the colorful lights of Buffalo City Hall shining in the background.

Tracy, Tim, it was our pleasure to photograph your love story 17 years in the making. You two are an inspiration - on and off camera :) We wish a very happy anniversary to you both - this year and forevermore!

Photo Event at The Buffalo ArtSpace Gallery

After the long, cold, snowy winter we've had here in Buffalo, we were excited to warm up with a little collaborative photo event at Buffalo's Artspace Gallery earlier this month. It was a great opportunity to get creative and shake off some winter blahs in a beautiful, modern (and warm) creative-use space! We were really fortunate to have the amazing make-up artistry of Sherille Williams MUA, who made the beautiful faces of our beautiful subjects simply shine. It was also great to have a chance to work with Kelsey of Kelsey Gene Photography, as well as our hard working hands-on assistant Kelly Skipper. We hope this is just the start of more creative collaboration to come!

We have to say were very happy to have some super patient, willing subjects who were so cooperative with every suggestion, and so much fun! First on that list were Tai and Ward, who individually have a great look but together...even better! Tai is a fashion fiend, so she had no shortage of wardrobe suggestions for herself and the love of her life. They just looked fabulous!

Next up were two sassy siblings, Santana and Nina, who came through in a big way for the "balloons and bokeh" inspired setup. As Kelly and Kelsey will testify, staging 4 dozen balloons isn't easy! But it all worked out beautifully.

The lovely mother-daughter duo, Li and Madison, closed out the night with understated perfection.  We love how the make-up turned out for all these ladies. Absolute beauties!

Thanks again to everyone for making this shoot happen! We hope you love the photographs as much as we enjoyed taking them!

Whiteside Family & Maternity Portrait Session at Lewiston's ArtPark

With baby number four on the way, Asha and Fred decided it was high time to plan a family portrait session that would capture the energy and personalities of their growing family, while celebrating their latest addition. So off we went, to Lewiston's ArtPark, for what turned out to be a very unique family maternity session! We split our energies to capture both the exuberance of their playful children and the intimacies of mom and dad that, well, reminded us all how all the kids came into the world in the first place :)

AT the start of the shoot, the kids hung around just long enough for us to capture a group shot. Then they were off to play while mom and dad had their own portrait session. The lighting and the scenery of the lower park overlooking the Niagara River made for a perfect setting.

Three kids and counting, these two still have that spark. We absolutely love the interaction--as natural as the scenery!

While mom and dad were doing their thing, the kids had already set their eyes on much more fun stuff in the woodsy Emerald Grove area of the park. So we headed over to the huts and sculptures to capture them doing what kids do best - play!

Just a few more shots with the family reunited, and it was a wrap!

Whiteside family, thanks for a fun and beautiful shoot! We had such a great time with you all and look forward to seeing you again after your latest addition has arrived! :)
