Kim & Brandonn's Lehigh Valley Wedding

After much anticipation, planning, and preparation, the big day had finally arrived for Brandonn and Kim--and we were so glad to be a part of it! We met Kim the morning of the wedding day at her home, keeping calm and cool amongst a host of loving friends and family jam-packed in her home as she pulled together the final touches for her day. Once Kim was in her dress, her matron of honor helped her spray on her new 'favorite' perfume--one of the many gifts from her groom. (Brandonn can bring a smile to her face, even when he's not around!) Through it all, Kim definitely had lots of loving hands to assist on this special day. After playing "fish face" with her flower girl, her bridesmaids held up the mirror for Kim so she could get a glimpse of herself and see the final result -- a beautiful bride! While the day was joyous, it did have its sad moments. Just a couple months before her wedding, she lost her loving father to a long battle with cancer. She wanted a picture with her father nonetheless, so she got her wish. We know her father would have been so proud of his girl on this day, as her family reminded her--he would want her to celebrate! So it was wonderful that her brother was there to put the smile back on her face as she pinned on his boutonniere.

Next, we took a few fun shots with her and ALL her lovely lady attendants. Then we were off to catch up with the fellas. Over at Brandonn's place, we found a proud display of HIS details: A pair of Converse that his bride bought him along with another set of ties for the guys to switch it up at the reception. Her custom-made ring along with his were also on proud display. Nice! Brandonn was over-the-top excited about having all his guys with him to celebrate his big day. But we think we was most pumped about his cameo shots. Brandonn, we love the shades! Finally, the time had come for the ceremony. Brandonn had tears in his eyes as Kim's brother escorted her down the aisle toward him. We kinda figured he would. Fortunately, Kim was there to keep him strong :)

The ceremony was in Spanish, so we didn't get too much of it. But we're pretty sure the officiant's gesture here was an indication of unity. And we did catch an illustration of peanut butter (Brandonn) and jelly (Kim). Although they are both very different, when you put them together, they blend perfectly. We think that was super appropriate for these two! The first order of business after the ceremony was heading over to the Starbucks at the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley. His and hers cappa-frappa-something! :) Afterwards they were all smiles. While at the Promenade Shops, we managed to fit the entire wedding party (emphasis on the party) into a few fun shots, and get a few more of the handsome couple, before heading over to the reception at the Eastonian. When Brandonn and Kim made their entrance at The Eastonian, there was instant celebration. Brandonn, we didn't know you could jump so high! Kim and Brandonn continued the celebration with their first dance--a lovely ballad followed by a fun salsa. We love it! The wedding cake was beautiful, and Kim and Brandonn celebrated by civilly sharing the first piece, then lovingly shoving the next in each other's face. That's how you do it! The dancing continued for hours, and the newlyweds did not miss out on the opportunity to dance the night away. We even caught Kim singing a little bit of "We are Family" with her girls. It was a great party! Brandonn and Kim, congratulations to the both of you! We wish you both the best as you experience all the joys of married life! Victoria & Nate: Buffalo Engagement Session

The best thing about telling visual love stories is that no two are the same. No two clients are exactly alike, no two personalities, no two interactions, no two perspectives. But one thing is for sure:  When the chemistry is there, it will always make one undeniably great story.

So it goes with Victoria and Nate. We met them for their shoot just outside of Pearl Street Grill and Brewery in Downtown Buffalo. And from the start, it was obvious that their chemistry would photograph well from every angle. Victoria and Nate’s story began at Docside bar in North Tonawanda. As Victoria tells it, everyone knows everyone in “NT,” so when Nathan met Victoria, he already knew she was dating an old friend of his. But when that relationship went south, Nathan made his move, and the rest is history.

Victoria says: “We started dating and he was full speed ahead, like a freight train!  We were dating a couple of weeks and as a grown man he said, ‘Will you go out with me?’ (Like we were in high school.) What does that mean? You wanna go somewhere? ‘No seriously, will you be my girlfriend?’ I had to give him a chance.” Looks like a chance was all he needed.

Victoria continues, “He’s the romantic. He’s over-the-top excited, all over the place! I’m more laid back, so there’s a balance there. He drives me crazy, but you meet someone and, as corny as it sounds, you just know.”

Nope – it doesn’t sound corny to us at all. Maybe that makes us corny, but we’re OK with that. :) After spending a little time downtown on Pearl Street, we made our way to Woodlawn Beach, detouring first at Gallagher Beach for a few shots. Victoria and Nate’s first date was at The Wellington Pub.

She says: “Our first date, he was a gentleman…he opened the car door for me.” She laughs as she remembers it was both the first and last time he did that :) So when Nate proposed, he took her back to that same place, to the same table where they first sat. His daughter Emma was with them. “She asked me to turn around and close my eyes, so I did, and it was a huge surprise!”

The whole time Victoria is telling us about Nate and how he proposed, her entire expression is lit up. We managed to catch that same expression again in one of the shots below, when Nate stood just behind the camera (it’s obvious which shot).

She says:  “He’s one of the last good guys on earth.” Victoria tells us, if she had it her way, she would have eloped. “But when I talked about eloping, his father almost cried…I’ve never been one on being married, having kids. But it’s important to him.”

Nate had her ring custom-made. Yeah Victoria, seems like you’re pretty important to him. Victoria and Nate, we had an amazing time with the two of you! Thanks for choosing us to capture your love story! We can’t wait to tell more of it at your Niawanda Park Clubhouse wedding next year!
