If we had to pick just one couple who exhibited the most excitement about their wedding day photography, of all the weddings we photographed this summer, it would have to be Mike and Ryen, without question! From the time these two saw their winter engagement session photos, they were just bursting at the seems in anticipation of their wedding day photography! So when the time came to celebrate their wedding day festivities with their friends and family, it was no surprise that a party ensued everywhere we went! From Salvatore's Grand Hotel, to Buffalo City Hall, to the Foundry Suites, to Salvatore's Italian Gardens, this wedding party was ready to have a good time!
We met Ryen the morning of the wedding at Salvatore's Grand Hotel, getting ready along with her bridesmaids and mom. No way was she going to let a few raindrops dampen her wedding day spirit!
Ryen's best ladies made her a keepsake album complete with photos and hand-written messages. So sweet!
Ryen: stunning. Simply stunning. To see more stunning images of Ryen in her bridal gown, check out the previous post below.
Meanwhile, across town, Mike and his entourage were getting prepared for the big day as well. Mike's brother was on hand to help him out, as only a big brother could.
Before too long, it was time for the ceremony to begin at Holy Cross Church. The guests were in keen anticipation of Ryen's arrival, as was Mike. No one was disappointed!
Being so close to downtown, we suggested a stop by Buffalo City Hall for a few shots with the newlyweds and their bridal party. The architecture here never disappoints. Such a beautiful choice for such beautiful people!
For our next adventure, we headed over to one of our new favorite venues in town - Buffalo's Foundry Suites - to get some shots of this crew, featuring Mike-- the most handsome new groom in town! We were impressed with this bridal party - they absolutely nailed these shots!
It was very important to Mike to stop by Forest Lawn Cemetery before the reception, to pay respects to one of his best friends whose life was cut short in a tragic accident a few years ago. This was the one time during the day when the rain seemed very apropos. Matthew, you are missed but not forgotten.
Next we headed over to the reception at Salvatore's Italian Gardens, where all the details were beautifully displayed for the festivities.
Time to get this party started right!
After the dances, cake cutting, and speeches, the DJ from Whirlin' Disc Sound did a little something different. Instead of clinking glasses, he proposed the guests sing a love song to signal the bride and groom to kiss. The bridal party started things off - and were not a tad bit shy about their performances!
Both the mother of the groom and the mother of the bride had a chance to celebrate on the dance floor. Then it was time to present the baked Alaska to the guests. The staff gave a stellar presentation!
Now all that was left to do was dance--and did they ever dance...and dance...and DANCE!
Mike and Ryen - we must say it was our pleasure working with the two of you. Your enthusiasm was only topped by the beauty of the day! Thanks again for choosing us to capture it. We wish you all the best in your new adventures together as husband and wife!
