When we met Michelle and Ben for their Sunday afternoon engagement session last month, we had great plans to photograph their shoot along the Buffalo Erie Basin Marina. We no sooner arrived to find our plans thwarted by literally thousands of Buffalonians gathered at Canalside to watch the World Cup. The one good thing about that? We realized we had the rest of downtown all to ourselves!
With a quick re-route to Niagara Circle, we started our shoot right in front of Buffalo's City Hall. We could not have asked for a more beautiful day.
Every time we come to this building, we're simply amazed by its architecture. We just love these next few shots.
Ben proposed to Michelle at the very spot where they had their first kiss. "I fooled her into thinking I was working my other job...She is texting me saying, 'I am in the parking lot where we had our first kiss!' I tap on the window and surprise her!" What a wonderful surprise!
Michelle & Ben - you look great!
Did we mention how we had the whole place to ourselves? :)
After taking in the Cityscape, we decided to head out to Buffalo's Outer Harbor to catch a few more shots before sunset. We really love the mix of woods, beach, and tall grasses right along Times Beach Nature Preserve. It made for a very scenic Plan B!
One thing these two wanted to incorporate in their shoot was Ben playing a song for Michelle along the beach. We were so happy to be able to capture that - and just as the sun was setting! Love it!
Ben, Michelle - thanks so much for choosing us to capture your engagement and wedding memories! We are looking forward to your Lockport Locks wedding next summer!
