On a lovely Spring evening, when the cherry blossoms were in bloom, we met up with Ryan and Katy for their engagement shoot at the Buffalo History Museum's Japanese Gardens in beautiful Delaware Park. For all the locations in the greater Buffalo area where we love to shoot, Delaware Park is definitely one of our favorites--a gem right in our own backyard.
It was not very long ago that we photographed Katy's senior portraits. So when she called to ask if we could photograph her wedding - we were very happy to oblige!
We started our shoot along the outer wall of the History Museum. We just love the architecture and aesthetics of this building.
The blooms were quite late arriving this year - as were the warm temps - and Ryan was even a little under the weather. But they didn't allow that to spoil the light and airy mood of the photo session, surrounded in gardens all dressed up in pink.
Even on overcast days, we find the clouds will break just before the sun goes down and give off some beautiful light. On this day, the sunset was just breathtaking.
We have to mention again, the temps were not as warm as the photographs suggest! So we took a short drive over to a quaint, retro venue - The Lake Effect Diner on Main Street. We absolutely love how the neon lights bounced color all around the restaurant. Ryan and Katy enhanced the ambiance as well :)
Katy and Ryan - thanks for a great shoot! We are excitedly looking forward to your Hayloft-in-the-Grove Wedding real, real soon! :)
